Beginning in Videography

If you're looking to get into videography and video editing as a hobby, the options can be daunting. Here is a small question and response that may help you get started in this fun and rewarding hobby.

What type of camera do you recommend?

Response: For a beginner, a Canon single CCD camera will suit you well. It has a cost range of $500 to $700. Canon is well respected at all levels of video camera quality and has probably the best quality for the price at the low end.

If you want to start out with something more professional, you may want to look into the Canon GL2 which is a low end 3 CCD (1/4" each) camera running about $1500. This camera is great for an enthusiastic hobbyist or a beginning special events videographer.

If you're looking to make some money on the side (or as a career) with your camera doing special events such as wedding videography, you may want to look into the Sony VX2100, a high-end consumer 3 CCD (1/3" each) camcorder, running at a price between $2100 and $3000, check out prices here. The high definition capable version of the same camera is called the Sony HDR / Fx1 and goes for $3700 at all major retailers.

What is CCD?

CCDs are imaging chips. CCD stands for charge-coupled device and is a light sensative circuit which stores an electrical charge representing each tiny part of an image. The difference between low and high end video cameras is usually determined by the number of CCDs (one or three), and the size of the CCD. In video cameras the number of CCDs determines the clarity of the picture in low lighting (most indoor) situations. The size of the CCD is directly linked to the amount of "color bleeding" present in the video.

It is also interesting to note that for video cameras, unlike photography cameras, the size of the pixels is far more important than the number of pixels. Fewer pixels that are larger make a better video camera. It is also interesting to note that as you go from low-end to high-end cameras, you will be getting fewer "extras" on your camera such as the ability to take "still photography".

Next question: What video editing software would you recommend?

Response: Pinnacle Studio 9 has many great features for beginning in photoediting. It runs between $70 and $90 at major retail stores. It gives many options and is very user friendly. If you're looking for some more advanced options in lighting, transitions, and sound editing, you may want to consider the more professional editing software Pinacle Liquid Editions for around $600.

Globe Unity

Most of us think of what a wonderful world this would be if only this or that. Well the Bible says that to follow the words of Jesus Christ and walk in his ways. Are we truly following his words or walking in his ways. Lets see what the Bible says about unity. Let's look at Psalms 133:1 How good and pleasant it is when brothers live together in unity! Since we are not in unity what can we do. Take a look at Romans 15:1 it says We who are strong ought to bear with the fallings of the weak and not please ourselves. Each of us should please his neighbor for his good, to build him up. For even Christ did not please himself but, as it is written: The insults of those who insult you have fallen on me. For everything that was written in the past was written to teach, so that through endurance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.

We must stay strong in Jesus Christ, with strong Faith, endurance, and encoragement with one another to fulfull his word. Look at Ephesians 4:2 says Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit-just as you were called to one hope when you were called-one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all. What a Blessing to know that Jesus is in all of us and we must allow his grace to shine. It states in Colossians 4:15 Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. 17 Tips for Bringing Your Event to Life

Your job as an event planner doesn't stop with the meeting in the company boardroom. You may be called upon to organize an employee appreciate event, an awards dinner, a product launch, the celebration of a company milestone, a gala recognizing a longtime employee's retirement, an incentive event for company's sales force, a fundraising event, a holiday celebration?the list goes on and on.

One key to a successful special event is to seek out entertainment or decorations that are unique and fun to spark conversation among guests. As you begin envisioning your event, picture the mood you want the environment to create. For example, determine whether you want to create a jubilant, celebratory atmosphere or one that is more serious. The ambiance you aim for depends a great deal upon the type of event you're having. If it's a product launch where you want to create an aura of enthusiasm and excitement, you'll likely lean toward an exhilarating atmosphere. If you're organizing an event for your employees and their spouses, perhaps you want the mood to be somewhat romantic.

Whatever you decide, the following seventeen tips will help you shape and enhance the atmosphere with the entertainment, decorations, and food you choose.

1. Think outside the box when planning the atmosphere at your event. Novelty is the key to your success. Give your guests something to tell their friends about!

2. Create a fun, interesting, and exciting ambiance using special stage settings, lighting, special scenery, music, ice carvings, flowers, centerpieces, candles, balloons, colored linens, printed menus, a photographer and gift items. Budget determines much of your wish list turns into reality.

3. Consider all sorts of amusements ? strolling musicians, chefs' demonstrations, palm readers?anything out of the ordinary.

4. Keep in mind that your entertainment doesn't have to come in the form of people. An elaborate coffee bar or startlingly beautiful champagne fountain will have your guests raving.

5. Vary your decorations depending on the type of event you're throwing and the venue you choose. Find out whether the facility has house decorations that it's willing to provide at no additional charge.

6. Check all decorating plans with the venue in advance since many have restrictions on what they allow you to do in their establishment.

7. Create a theme especially for a large event to help make it more memorable. In addition, it helps make it easier to organize programming, food, d?cor, and other accessories. Carry out your theme before, during and after the event for true ambiance and memorability.

8. Cut down on decorating costs by choosing a themed venue and then building your event around the d?cor rather than molding a venue to the theme you've chosen. For example, find an elaborately decorated ethnic restaurant, and then provide the musicians and entertainers from the appropriate area of the world.

9. Select a theme that fits your group and complements the tone and content of your event. But don't have a theme unless you're prepared to follow through with it.

10. Ask for theme ideas. If you're at a loss, consider having a competition soliciting ideas from your target audience. Your best ideas often come from others. But, remember to offer a fun incentive.

11. Consider choosing a theme from the most popular categories, namely: Fashion (e.g. The Roaring Twenties), History (e.g. A Renaissance Fair), Politics (e.g. 4 th of July Celebrations), Popular culture (e.g. An Evening with Dr. Seuss) or The arts (e.g. A Night at the Oscars). Avoid the brainwork and check out http://www.party411.com/themes.html for the easy way out.

12. Choose appropriate entertainment for your group. Participants look forward to the entertainment segment of a program. They want to have fun, enjoy themselves, and let their hair down, particularly after stressful and demanding sessions. Options include: Music (e.g. live, disc jockey or even karaoke), Spectacle (e.g. magician, juggler, comedian or mine), Theater (e.g. dinner theatre, murder-mystery experience or corporate theater), Games (e.g. treasure hunt, or a game show), Video or slide show.

13. Make certain to view a demo video before hiring talent. Watch for the entertainers' performance quality and the audience reaction. Check out their references and ask specific questions such as: Would they hire them again? How flexible, reliable and easy to work with are they? Make sure that their act is a good fit for your audience.

14. Find out whether the entertainers need extra staging, lighting, or d?cor to create the right ambiance. Special requirements add to your bottom line ? watch out, this could get expensive. Be sure that the venue approves any special requests. For musical entertainment discuss various options, such as low-volume background music, light entertainment during the meal, and lively dance music. Discuss how the entertainers involve the audience in their act. People enjoy both passive and active involvement.

15. Sit-down affairs work best when you include some form of entertainment. However, if you want something a bit different, look at alternative areas in the hotel, such as an indoor patio or pool area. Naturally, a plan revolving around an outdoor pool is contingent on the weather. It's best to have a back-up plan just in case the heavens decide to open. Buffets and barbecues also work well, but watch the price tag. These kinds of food functions often require extra labor, which automatically means additional dollars.

16. Don't serve anything messy for any event where food is served while guests are standing and mingling. Limit your cuisine to bite-size morsels that guests can easily eat with their fingers or a fork. Save money by opting for a few choice hors d'oeuvres in larger quantities rather than a large selection in smaller quantities. But remember to include some interesting vegetarian selections in your menu for guests who don't eat meat.

17. Make sure you have enough bartenders and liquor when serving alcohol at your event. You don't want to run out of beverages in the middle of the party or have long lines of grumbling, thirsty guests. Consider whether you want to limit your guests to certain selections, eliminating expensive liquors and specialty drinks.

The Truth About Public Relations

The truth is, you CAN attract the support of those external audiences whose behaviors have the most effect on your enterprise. But you must do it by first achieving the positive changes you need in their perceptions and, thus, behaviors.

You'll get both using this strategic approach to public relations which means your chances of achieving your organizational objectives are enhanced.

It all starts with the fundamental premise of public relations shown just below.

"People act on their own perception of the facts before them, which leads to predictable behaviors about which something can be done. When we create, change or reinforce that opinion by reaching, persuading and moving-to-desired-action those people whose behaviors affect the organization, the public relations mission is accomplished."

The core strength of those comments lies in the behavior changes that can take place among your key, outside audiences. When those changes occur ? and the combined perceptions of members of that important external "public" begin to move in your direction ? it can spell public relations success.

For instance, with a strong factual basis, you convince area activists gathering at your plant gate that (1) you don't dump chemicals into the river, and (2) both State and Federal investigations found that to be true. When they finally clear out, you've limited the damage an expensive and long-lasting disruption could have caused. That saved the organization cold, hard cash!

What happened? You managed to change the perception of those activists which, predictably, led to the change in their behavior that you desired. In other words, a successful use of public relations' fundamental premise.

While public relations can bring real power to bear, and while there's a well-worn path leading to each success, truth is, you can't change perceptions, and thus behaviors of your important outside audiences if you are not in touch with them on a regular and meaningful basis.

That's why it's so important to interact with members of each target audience, and ask questions. What do you think of our services, our programs, or our products? Are you satisfied? Listen carefully for signs of a misconception or a factual inaccuracy. Is there a belief alive out there that simply isn't true? Do you detect a hurtful rumor that must be squashed?

The answers you receive let you establish your public relations goal. For example, correct that inaccuracy, clear up that misconception, or get out the facts in order to neutralize that rumor.

But how will you actually reach that goal? With a clear and urgent strategy.

Fortunately, in dealing with perception/opinion, we have just three options available to us. Create perception/opinion where there is none, change existing perception, or reinforce it.

The goal you established will quickly tell you which strategy choice you must make.

But, of course, what you say to that target audience, in pursuit of your public relations goal, is crucial. Your message must be persuasive, compelling and clear as a mountain stream. It also must be credible and believable, which means truthful in all detail. It should also address the particular inaccuracy, misconception or rumor head on and not allow room for any further misunderstandings.

Now, how do you get that carefully chiseled message to the attention of members of that key, target audience? I still call them "beasts of burden" because they carry messages from Point A to Point B. Communications tactics is the answer, and you have a huge selection from which to choose. Everything from open houses, contests, news releases and speeches to brochures, community briefings, letters-to-the- editor, emails, radio/TV and newspaper interviews, and lots more.

Sooner rather than later, you will wonder whether you're making any progress. And the only realistic way to nail that down is to go back to members of that target audience again and ask them the same questions all over again.

The big difference this time around is, you're looking for signs that opinion/perceptions have begun to change in your direction. By that I mean clear indications that the miscon- ception is clearing up, or the inaccuracy has been corrected, or that a negative impression is slowly turning around.

Truth is, that's when this strategic, and powerful approach to public relations ? supported by appropriate tactical firepower ? delivers the altered perceptions and modified behaviors promised in the fundamental premise of public relations.

Is There Any Real Use For A Fun Quiz?

Q. I don't like my children spending so much time on the computer and playing video games. Can you help me find or develop a fun quiz to stimulate their thinking?

A. A fun quiz is an excellent way to keep kids occupied especially during the vacation months when learning takes a hiatus.

The key to designing a fun quiz is to keep the subjects relevant to things that interest your children while managing to stretch the limits of their knowledge.

A fun quiz does not have to be so easy that it's seen as a joke, nor does it have to be boring. Here's an example:

Let's say that one of your children enjoys playing with American Girl dolls and her favorite is Kirsten. Now, we all know that Kirsten moved to the United States from Sweden when she was a little girl, right?

Instead of asking a fun quiz question like "Where did Kirsten live before moving to the United States?", which any devoted Kirsten fan knows the answer to already, you could ask: "What colors are on the Flag of Sweden, where Kirsten used to live?". This serves the purpose of bringing subjects into the fun quiz that your children are interested in, yet it stretches the limits of their knowledge and forces them to learn while having fun!

Sneaky parents, aren't we?

You can create fun quiz contests where you design the quiz, print out multiple copies, and distribute them to your child's play group, Brownie or Cub Scout Troop, or other occasions where two or more children are gathered together. You can have prizes for the most interesting answer, or for any other metric that you care to use.

Remember that the key word in fun quiz is fun. If the kids catch on that you are actually making them learn something then the magic may disappear and your fun quiz will turn into just another dumb thing that Mom or Dad wants them to do.

A fun quiz does not have to be limited to small children. You can create a fun quiz that allows your teenager to earn "borrow the car" points by answering traffic safety questions.

Employees can also participate in a fun quiz where you award points or prizes for answering questions about your products or services or, perhaps, questions about your biggest and smallest clients.

The point that I am trying to make here is that a quiz does not have to be something dreadful. A fun quiz can be used to teach and entertain at the same time. Go ahead, try it yourself. My challenge to you is to create a fun quiz that will entertain, stimulate, and teach the people who take it.

Frequency Pollution; Is it real?

Today we are finding since the beginning of radio and Tesla's work in alternating current that these increased man made waves do affect the brain. The Wireless revolution is upon us and those of us who are sensitive to frequencies bands will find it difficult to have quality of life in those areas where lots of wireless activity is. A study by three Dutch government ministries found that radio signals for the next generation of mobile phone services can cause headaches and nausea. We have already found this out, there may be a way that this can be accounted for and corrected by use of intermittent ELF to help the body super charge the immune system.

In this particular Dutch Government Funded Wireless Study they compared the effects of radiation from base stations used for the current mobile telephone network with the radiation effects of base stations of 3G networks. The study found that the test group exposed to third generation base station signals felt tingling sensations, got headaches, and felt nauseous. Cognitive functions such as memory and response times were actually boosted by both 3G signals and the current signals. This is interesting and I have found this to be true when I used lots of minutes on my cell phone, I had more brain activity. Other studies have recently come out and said that small does of microwave are actually good for you and I have found that significant doses of caffeine during periods of high cell phone use increased and stimulated brain activity to higher levels of thinking. Similar to a computer running at a higher frequency.

The ramifications of the study to Wi-Fi networks is clear: previous research into the health effects of radio frequency radiation always measured the impact of cell phones, which are held close to the head and cause high fields of radiation close to the ear and warming of the brain. I have found that it heated up the back of the brain or cerebellum and thus stimulated the brain, but also could cause headaches, until which time the brain got use to that frequency; then it enjoyed the stimuli and was even able to pick up that signal. Meaning, just seconds before the phone rang the brain felt stimulated, in other words the brain was in fact picking up the signal.

This even worked when the phone was in the next room. So these studies are correct and the 3D technology and the cognitive enhancement, I can vouch for is real. The Dutch study, on the other hand, used lower a dose of radiation to mimic base station signals rather than handsets. Handsets emit stronger radiation when they are used, while base stations transmit more constant levels of radio signals, exposing everyone within range. This is just a thought. And here are some other recent article on the subject.

http://www.reuters.com/printerFriendlyPopu...storyID=3534786

http://www.eweek.com/article2/0,4149,1276183,00.asp .

All frequency pollution will have an effect on the brain, since it also works at a certain frequency as do all parts of the body. The important thing is to understand how these frequencies in the new wireless age affect the biorhythms and then move forward with a plan to protect the body and even enhance its performance without causing cancer, free radicals or damage to the tissue. Think about it.

Business Loans: If You Know How To Make Good Use Of Money And Expertise

Are their rewards of being your own boss? Yes, in fact many ? you make the rules, you work for yourself, you take home the profits and you get to do what you want. Business and finances are closely intertwined. Finances are basic to business development. Any new scheme or business idea requires money to grow. Business loans are the most popular way of raising finances for business.

A typical advantage of business loans is that the loan lending company or the bank has claim only on the interest rate of the loan. Unlike an equity investor, the loan lender would not be entitled to percentage in business profits or share in the company. You retain the ownership of your business. Business loans can get money fast and easy for any kind of business need like starting a small business, refinancing, expanding your business, purchase or any other commercial investment.

Business loans are offered as secured and unsecured business loans. A secured business loan can serve as the simplest, most efficient way of finding finances for your business plan. Secured business loans come with many benefits which include lower monthly payments, facility to borrow more and spreading the repayment over a longer period of time.

Secured business loans certainly score more than other form of finances. With secured business loans you can boast of flexibility which allows you to conserve your cash and working capital. You can use these funds for any purpose like paying off current debts. Secured business loan can provide you with the ability to design your very own repayment schedule that fits your budget. You can get access to cash with minimal up-front payments.

A secured business loan would enable you to retain the legal title of the assets you are placing as security. Your home, real estate, commercial equipment, vehicle or any valuable asset can act as security for secured business loans. The main disadvantage with secured business loan includes the fact that there may be many events that may be taken as defaults on the loan like late payments, bankruptcy and violation of any obligations in the loan documents. Talking openly with your lender about any default can easily sort out any inconvenience at all regarding secured business loans.

Unsecured business loans also offer similar advantages as its secured counterpart minus offering any collateral for the loan claim. However, unsecured business loans might entail a higher rate of interest. The benefits of flexibility, retention of ownership, budgeting is same as secured business loan. Interest payments on unsecured business loans are tax deductible, whereas purchases financed from profits are made out of taxed income. Unsecured business loan are scheduled at the outset, so cash management is easy. With unsecured business loan you would be required to provide some additional guarantees which can be supplied from your bank, your partners or you. This may affect your credit rating and standing with your bank.

Credit history is the criterion that helps the lender to decide whether you are a credit risk or not with respect to unsecured business loans. A credit history that is flooded with late payments, defaults or bankruptcies won't leave a positive impact on the loan lender. If your credit history is poor, an unsecured business loan application with a letter explaining your changed circumstance would leave a positive impact. Honesty in giving out credit information is the best way to deal with negative credit. The best way of getting your unsecured business loan approved is to prove that you can and will repay the loan. Also, showing that you have invested in your business would provide the lender with the satisfaction of knowing that his financial interests is united with yours.

For business loan, be prepared with business financial statements, business plan with financial projection, personal tax returns. There will be questions asked. Be prepared to answer them. Emphasize on your financial performance and get an accountant to help you with it. Be clear about why you need this business loan and be prepared to explain that to the loan lender. The loan amount on business loan can range from ?50,000 to ?200,000 and above depending on your status.

Getting money through business loans - is only the first step. The next step is being a good borrower. This will provide you with the cooperation when you require it. You would be required to produce financial statements on a regular basis. Be ready to provide them. Understanding the requirements and executing them is the best way to developing good business relationships. Not everyone has the acumen to start a business. You have that, don't let it go awry. Take a business loan.

Few identifiers are necessary to identify your kind of loan. An unprepared borrower might find it very confusing to get out of the jargon of loans in UK. Are You Tired of Being Stuck?

All you want is a little more.

More money, more love, more fun, more friends.

So what happens when we don't get what we want, when the flow slows down or even stops?

You get mad, sad and unhappy.

You blame the president, the country, the war, your mother, father, husband, wife, child, co-worker, Anyone we can think of, even the driver of that car who passed you on the freeway.

You find yourself stuck.

Stuck in the anger, stuck in the resentment, stuck in the fear of what will happen now. You are stuck because there is no flow. As soon as you get angry or resentful or critical, the flow shuts down.

So you attract more stuckness. Then you start defending your stuckness. Stop.

Stop defending your stuckness. The reason you defend your stuckness position is because you want to be right about who you are and what you do. Being right then becomes resistance. Being in resistance puts you in that rut of stuckness. A vicious circle.

The only way out of the rut, the only way to increase the flow of anything is to forgive.

Forgiveness is the process that opens the flow.

Forgiveness lets your guard down from defending your position. To let your guard down is the best place to be if you want more of anything in your life.

If you are stuck, there is no flow, and you are someplace you do not want to be, there is something you can do.

If you want to be in another place or feel another feeling or act another action, I have a secret.

The secret is forgiveness - really.

Forgiveness gets you off your position of being right.

Because your stuckness is really about being right.

When you are right about something, you think you are in total absolute control. When others defy your position by criticizing you or not giving you that contract you worked so hard to get and think you deserve, you become stuck.

This stuckness, this resistance, stops the flow of anything, good or bad, from coming to you.

You are so stuck that you cannot think of a way out or a new direction.

Forgiveness stops you for a minute. This stop allows the flow of activity, of something other than righteous resistance.

Here is a simple, effective, clear way to get unstuck.

Start by making a list of all the people you have any issues with, or a feeling about, or a criticism of.

Maybe they did cut you off on the freeway. Maybe they didn't keep their word to you. Maybe they lied. Maybe they didn't hire you for that job.

Check out the following example.

Trudy was supposed to meet you for lunch. She often canceled on previous occasions. You hoped this time would be different. It wasn't. She not only didn't show up, she called at the very last minute to say she was still an hour away. No real regret, just sorry. So, what did you do? Let us say you became resentful and argued with her and told her off.

What did this accomplish? You really didn't feel better. All this argument did was remind you of all the other times she stood you up. This reminder created more memories of when others kept you waiting. You now go back in time to recall numerous similar situations.

Again, you are stuck, you get angry and upset with almost every little perceived slight. If you are stuck, the goodness that you want, the more of what you want will no longer flow.

Forgive Trudy. Really.

Get out your journal and write the following:

? I forgive Trudy for all the times she stood me up.

? I forgive Trudy for making me feel angry.

? I forgive Trudy for making me feel stuck.

You can start to feel your body changing. You have just created an opening, an opportunity for the the flow to begin.

? I appreciate Trudy for all of who she is.

? I appreciate myself for accepting Trudy as she is.

Okay, maybe you are not totally accepting of Trudy, yet, but just the saying of it will open your valves.

The more often you forgive everyone who you think has lied to you, ignored you, stood you up or did not keep their word to you, the flow will begin. Keep that journal out and continue to forgive everyone on that list. Take the time for this exercise each and every day until the flow begins.

Let forgiveness keep you on your path of unstuckness.

Let the flow of more money, more love, more fun, and more friends begin.

Find and Catch Those Pesky Fish with a Garmin 240 Fish Finder

Garmin 240 Fish Finder Depthfinder with Transducer - a review

The lakes that I normally fish are deep and quite rocky, and I have been delighted with the performance of the Garmin 240 Fish Finder, which gives a clear picture of what lies below. The image of the bottom shows great detail, and if it is showing fish presence then you can guarantee they will be there. It does a good job of indicating non-fishlines as well. It is at its best when performing in deep water, but perhaps isn't as impressive in shallow water.

The Depth Control feature works well in continuing to monitor changes in water depth automatically while the Whiteline feature determins bottom hardness well. The screen is easy to read, even in the dark when the backlight comes into its own. You can see the controls easily.

The Garmin 240 Fish Finder is packed full of features for less money than my old Lowrance, while the features are easily compatible."

Features

The 240-by-240 pixel high-definition display gives you a clear picture of fish, thermoclines, structure and bottom surface. By using various shades of gray, the Fishfinder 240 paints a beautiful picture, leaving little to interpretation.

Operational features include a unique control bar that identifies the most commonly used fishing settings. So without hunting through complicated menus, you can quickly configure and save the settings you want. As lake conditions change, you can fine- tune your Fishfinder 240 on the fly.

Garmin's engineering edge includes See-ThruTM technology, a Garmin exclusive. This allows the Garmin 240 Fish Finder to hear both weak and strong signals simultaneously so you to identify fish returns under the toughest conditions: suspended in thermoclines or even hiding near structure.

Another exclusive feature is Depth Controlled Gain (DCGTM), which automatically adjusts fishfinder sensitivity according to depth, not echo intensity like other fishfinders. The result is a much more detailed and accurate picture of bottom structure.

And we've often heard stories about folks who have found a great fishing spot one day, only to be unable to find it again the next day. With the Garmin 240 Fish Finder that's never a problem again.

Watch Out For Credit Repairs

It is very easy to find a site that is neat, professional-looking, and one that offers a free three-agency credit report and free credit report without a credit card.

This scam is too good to be true. Usually the only catch is an upfront charge to the consumer of $7.95 or something similar for each disputed item on your report. I was on the verge of signing up, but got a sneaking suspicion that something wasn't right.

Every other site I'd seen offered an Equifax report for free, and a three-agency report for around $35. How could they offer it for free, and How could anyone get a free credit report without a credit card?

Skeptical, I researched the company and found multiple complaints. One of the prominent ones was a claim that they disputed every negative entry on your credit report without your approval, and then charged you $7.95 for each one.

I requested an explanation of the above link to give them a chance to share their side of the story. While I awaited their response I continued my research.

The Department of Justice says there is nothing a credit repair agency can do that you can't do for free, making Clear Credit's offer seem even more suspicious.

Almost all of the other sites I found made it clear that you should be suspicious of anyone claiming to improve your credit for a fee and offering free credit report without a credit card, because non-profit groups are available to help people with credit trouble.

My hopes were dashed in a matter of days. I received two e-mails from Clear Credit, but they didn't contain an explanation. They told me to act now to improve my credit.

They spam a potential customer who made a perfectly legitimate request for more information. I was not impressed.

My search to find a quality three-agency credit report for a low price will continue, but Clear Credit is clearly off the list.
